Today, I’d like to introduce our new multi-purpose transport vehicle called the W-shaped dry bulk tank trailer (also called the W-type dry bulk tank trailer).
Why do we say it can be used for multiple purposes? It can transport more materials, not just cement and fly ash but also lime powder, mineral powder, chemical powder, flour, starch, soda ash, feed, granite powder, mineral powder, and even chemical raw materials like PA66. In some developed countries, it’s even used to transport food such as soybeans, wheat, and corn.
However, the most common use for dry bulk tank trailers is currently limited to transporting bulk cement, and most customers choose a common V-shaped dry bulk tank trailer.
W-shaped dry bulk tank trailers are more common in Europe and America but are still not popular in China and other developing countries. So why is the vertical W-shaped dry bulk tank trailer considered a highly promising product in the industry? Let’s discuss it today.
W-shaped Dry Bulk Tank Trailer Has a Wider Range of Applications and Stronger Functionality
Since the W-shaped tank body is composed of a horizontal cylindrical cylinder and multiple vertical cone bins, controlling the inclination angle makes it easier to adjust the angle of the fluidized bed.
The fluidization angle of a vertical W-type tanker can be controlled between 30° and 60°, and sometimes even reach 90°. In contrast, the fluidization angle of a V-shaped tanker is usually less than 20°. Therefore, the W-shaped tanker can transport more materials than the V-shaped tanker cannot. It not only can transport the common cement powder and fly ash but can also carry powdery and granular materials.
That means if the W-type tank carries cement on the outbound trip, it can transport materials like sand and small stones on the return trip. So, it can be called a “mixed” and “multi-purpose” vehicle in the powder materials tanker field.
The W-type dry bulk tank trailer unloads quickly and has an extremely low residual rate, almost reaching zero. The remaining materials in a single cone are less than 10 kg.
Structure of the W-shaped Dry Bulk Tank Trailer
The structure of a vertical W-shaped dry bulk tank trailer generally includes the tank body, chassis, running gear system, engine power source, air compressor, intake pipe, discharge pipe, fluidization system, and safety accessories. The safety accessories include top walkways, handrails, ladders, manholes, supports, side guards, rear guards, and lights.
Do you know why the price of a W-type dry bulk tank trailer is higher than a common V-type dry bulk tank trailer? It’s because its structure is complex and also requires exceptional materials and production techniques.
You know that the main structure of a W-type dry bulk tank trailer is complex. Let’s take the tank body as an example: it consists of cylindrical and cone sections. The front and rear sections are sealed using end caps, creating a closed space. The joints must have a large curvature radius to avoid sharp corners and dead angles. This complexity in design and component selection, including the end caps, cones, fluidization system, and discharge pipe structure, requires special attention from dedicated vehicle manufacturers. So, not all Chinese semi-trailer manufacturers can produce W-type dry bulk tank trailers. It needs manufacturers with advanced manufacturing processes, skilled workers, and longer manufacturing experience.
Furthermore, vertical W-type dry bulk tank trailers have a wide range of material transport options. The cone angle adjustment range is between 30° and 60°, and various tank materials are available for vertical W-type tankers. Why Choose the W-type Over the V-type?
Compared to the single-purpose transportation of a V-shaped dry bulk tank trailer that can only be used for transporting cement, the W-shaped dry bulk tank trailer can handle more transportation tasks. Therefore, they have significant applications and value in the transportation of food and high-end chemical raw materials, like flour, fine fly ash, heavy soda ash, feed, and granite materials, as well as weakly adhesive and weakly adsorptive particles like soybeans, wheat, corn, PA66, and coarse-grain fly ash.
Due to their unique structure, they eliminate the need for packaging, bundling, stacking, loading, unloading, and unpacking, saving labor costs.
However, due to the higher price of a W-type dry bulk tank trailer compared to a V-shaped dry bulk tank trailer, overseas customers still prefer the cost-effective V-shaped dry bulk tank trailer. Nevertheless, as the demand for bulk transportation of materials increases in industries such as food, flour, and chemicals, W-type dry bulk powder tankers will soon develop in home and abroad markets.
